StockRing was created for an investor who has a minimum $5,000-$10,000 on the market, preferably trades with a discount broker with low commissions, and believes in diversification.
Also, StockRing Golden Rule is to invest the same amount of money into each stock, with approximately 10-20 stocks in each portfolio.
If you never traded stocks in your life
1. First you would need to open an account preferably with a reputable discount broker such as Scottrade, Etrade or Ameritrade. Please include $5,000 - $10,000 minimum check to fund your account. Why the minimum is is so high? Well, StockRing approach is to never invest more then 5% of your money into each stock, which means that you need to have about 20 stocks in your portfolio. If you have $5,000 and divide it by 20 you will get $5,000/20= $250. This means that you need to put about $250 in each stock in your future portfolio. Remember, to buy and then sell a stock it will cost you about $15, which is 15/250 = 6%. So, in order for you to make money with $5,000 you need first cover 6% in trading expenses. This is why it is important to put more money into the stock market, such as $20,000 so that your trading expenses would be 15/$1000 = 1.5%.
a) Minimum Investment amount: $5,000 - $10,000
b) Number of Stocks to Buy: About 20
c) Amount of Money to put in each stock = All your investment money / 20
2. After you opened an account and deposited there let’s say $20,000 you should divide your money into 20 equal parts of $1,000 each. Then you should pick 20 good stocks, and invest $1,000 dollars in each one of them.
Buy about 20 good stocks
